Sergio bio
Sergio Shimura is an engineer and educator with extensive experience in electrical engineering, automation, and renewable energy.
His career spans both academia and industry. He has held positions as a Senior Engineer at Hewlett-Packard and as a Systems Engineer focusing on sustainable energy research. Dr. Shimura has also been an adjunct professor at the University of São Paulo and São Judas Tadeu University. His research interests include power systems, specifically the generation of electric energy with a focus on the costs, availability, and reliability of photovoltaic power plants.
Dr. Shimura's contributions have been recognized through awards and publications. He has authored a book on photovoltaic systems and published articles in esteemed journals like Solar Energy and Energy for Sustainable Development. His work has been presented at international conferences, and he has received honors such as the IEOM Outstanding Researcher Award in 2021. He frequently participates in knowledge dissemination activities, such as giving short courses and interviews.
Dr. Shimura currently leads the Innovation and Sustainability practice at O2B.
